Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI)

I have been trained in Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) at Yale’s School of Medicine. It is an early intervention program designed to prevent post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in children ages 3-18 who have experienced traumatic events or disclosed physical or sexual abuse. It involves a brief series of 5-8 sessions administered within 30-45 days of the trauma. The program has been shown to significantly reduce the onset and severity of PTSD symptoms through family communication and support. Below are two resources I find useful on the topic of CFTSI or for more detailed information, visit the Yale School of Medicine website.
